Pre-Galvanized steel is zinc coated by a hot dip process. Steel strip from a coil is fed through a continuous zinc coater which cleans fluxes and coats the steel with molten zinc. After cooling the steel is recoiled. This coating is used on Unistrut channel and accessories and is a well-proven time-tested performer for both indoor and outdoor applications. For severe corrosion environments Hot Dipped Galvanised is recommended. Unistrut Channel is a support system manufactured from steel also referred to as Strut. It is available in: Plain Oil Hot Dipped Galvanised (HDG) Pre-Galvanised Stainless Steel Thickness options include 21 mm 41 mm 62 mm 82 mm and larger if required. Standard lengths are 3 or 6 metres (or shorter with our cutting service). Within the Unistrut channel range slotted channels are available with slots at either 11 mm or 14 mm. All single Unistrut members are carefully rolled from mild steel. Multiple members are made by spot welding two or more single members together. The Unistrut Metal Framing System includes a wide range of channel nuts and hardware including: Spring nuts Stud nuts Flat washers Square washers Lock washers Qwik washers Hex head cap screws ...and more all designed to make fastening channels and fittings quick and easy. Unistrut channels comply with BS6946:1988 standards. Each channel is rolled with its part number and the standards full name deeply engraved along with Unistrut branding ensuring authenticity and easy identification while preventing confusion with inferior imitations.
