Firefly FB180 Ablative Batt Floor System is a 60mm single-layer mineral wool board with a factory-applied ablative coating on both sides, providing EI60:E90 fire-rated compartmentation above ceilings between existing joists, 1200 x 600 x 60mm.
WHERE IT'S USED
Installed above existing ceilings between timber joists (min. 90 x 38mm C16 softwood, additionally treated with FIREFLY Ablative Coating) in retrofit applications such as multiple-occupancy dwellings and historic buildings, to upgrade fire compartmentation without disturbing ornate or lath-and-plaster ceilings below. Tested with typical penetrations including soil pipes, metal pipes with lagging, cables and cable trays. A companion FB180 Wall System is also available.
BUILD-UP
Layers of mineral wool combined to form a 60mm board, density 180 kg/m³, ablative coating factory-applied to both faces, cut to friction-fit between joists.
KEY BENEFITS
Provides 90 minutes Integrity and 60 minutes Insulation from a single-layer batt. Fully tested to BS EN 1363-1:2020 including typical penetrations, and to BS EN 1364-2 (unloaded floors) to confirm compartmentation without degrading load-bearing capacity. Acoustic reduction of 27 dB from the batt in isolation. Third-party certified. Horizontal use only.
