Protecta FR ASF Acrylic Intumescent Sealant is an up-to-4-hour rated intumescent sealant formulated with noise-reducing fillers, for linear joints and service penetrations in fire rated walls and floors.
WHERE IT'S USED
Used to prevent the spread of fire, smoke and gases through linear joints and building service penetration openings in fire rated walls and floors, applied over a suitable backing material to control width-to-depth ratio and reduce shrinkage. For high-humidity or high-movement joints, use Protecta FR IPT instead.
BUILD-UP
Acrylic sealant that cures under atmospheric conditions while retaining some elasticity for joint movement, forming a durable intumescent char under fire exposure.
KEY BENEFITS
Fire rated in horizontal and vertical joints. No priming required for most substrates. Joint movement capability of 7.5%. Suitable for joints up to 50mm wide. Excellent slump resistance. Fast cure, tack-free within an hour. Halogen free, paintable, reduces sound transmission.

Fire performance: Tested to BS EN 1366-3, with BS EN 1366-4 guidance for protection joints. Acoustic: BS EN ISO 140-3:1995. Joint width: Up to 50mm. Movement capability: 7.5%. Shelf life: 24 months.
