Description

Protecta PRO070 EX Mortar is a dry, white powder of inorganic components and perlite that, mixed with water, forms a thermally insulating fire-sealing compound to stop fire and smoke spreading through openings in fire-rated walls and floors.

WHERE IT'S USED

Building service penetrations in fire-rated walls and floors made from concrete, brick, Leca, steel or plastic - not suitable for door installations or service openings involving movement.

BUILD-UP

Expands approximately 1% by hydraulic action during curing for a tight seal, hardening to an off-white compound of around 1050kg/m3 that can be sanded or drilled. No priming is needed on most substrates, though metal services in contact with the seal must be corrosion protected.

KEY BENEFITS

- Classified in walls and floors of concrete, brick, gypsum and similar materials

- Suitable for cables, cable racks, cable trays, steel, copper, alupex and plastic pipes, and air ventilation ducts

- Load bearing without reinforcement, high mechanical resistance

- Simple to apply, smooth finish

- Fully set within 1 hour; nearly unlimited storage time

SPECIFICATION DATA

Density (cured): ~1050 kg/m3

Expansion during cure: ~1%

Pack size: 10 litre pail

Set time: 1 hour (fire performance derived after 1 month cure)
